Joints started leaking within 6 months.. It still works.. but leaks are getting worseBuyer beware. This item is not what is shown or what is advertised. The hose reel is no use without the stand it is shown on. Only after I made the purchase did the seller update the description to include that the hose reel itself does not come with the stand shown. The reel looks heavy duty but without a stand it is useless as it is too heavy to carry or use practically.Very well built and very beneficial when you have a fleet of trucks.Reel started leaking at the swivel packing after only three uses.The detent pin which holds the reel locked in one of 4 positions also fell out between the shop and the first job the reel went to.Returned and bought a Cox reels reel.2 stars. I actually bought this straight from Northern Tools. It arrived unusable. There is a 1/4", machined hole in the hose connector. Water flows out this hole instead of through the hose. I will update this comment when the problem is resolved. On first glance it looks and feels very sturdy.Wow. I called, sent email and pics. Northern Tools immediately shipped another and provided a return label for the defective one. When the replacement arrived, I carefully compared the two items. They are identical pieces of equipment, except the original one had been tampered with. The second item had no hole drilled and no drill marks. The first one was obviously altered in some incomplete attempt to change the operation. Maybe they intended a pressure bypass or pressure gauge. In any event the process was never completed. See pics.After comparing the two items I sent the original reel back.Final analysis, this is an excellent reel. Very heavy duty. This reel actually stays put and does not tip when you pull extra hose, even at a bad angle, off the reel from 20 feet away. I am very impressed with both the reel and the company.
